COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Two Columbia City Council races are heading to runoff elections.
After results came in from Election Night, no candidate in the Columbia City Council At-Large and District 4 races got more than 50% of the vote.
For the At-Large race, incumbent councilwoman Aditi Bussells received 43.2% of the vote, and challenger Sam Johnson got 47.4% of the vote.
Bussells was elected to her seat in 2021. During her time on city council, Bussells launched Rapid Shelter Columbia to help increase housing, helped increase pay for Columbia’s first responders and voted for the state’s first lost and stolen firearm ordinance, per her campaign website .
