BOISE, Idaho — City council Bill Jacobs has maintained a commanding advantage in the Garden City mayoral race as unofficial results continue to pour in late Tuesday night.
The margin means Jacobs will become the city's first new mayor in almost two decades, outlasting fellow candidates Teresa Roundy and College of Western Idaho (CWI) trustee Molly Lenty.
Jacobs earned 62.1% of 2,891 votes as of roughly 11:15 p.m. MT Tuesday, Nov. 4. Lenty garnered 34.9% and Roundy received 3.0% of the vote. All election results are unofficial until certified by the State Board of Canvassers.
