MCALPIN, Fla. (WCJB/WCTV) - A man faces charges in Suwannee County after sheriff’s deputies say he killed his father and badly injured his mother.

Gene Desmartin, 47 is in jail without bond.

He was arrested last Thursday, after deputies responded to a home in McAlpin Wednesday night. Deputies say it was a stabbing.

Investigators say it appears likely the mother will survive, but they haven’t been able to speak with her yet.
