When Mario was dropped off at Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, California, he couldn’t understand why his family had left him. The loyal Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull mix clung to the hope that it was all a mistake; that soon, he’d be back home, curled up beside the people he loved most.
