At least seven people have been killed in a horror plane crash . Several others have been injured with more fatalities feared after the aircraft exploded shortly after takeoff.

Horrifying scenes of the Louisville UPS plane crash aftermath were captured and shared on social media. The incident happened while taking off from the Louisville airport in Kentucky, leaving a trail of flames just miles from the city’s downtown, reports the Star .

The plane crashed at about 5:15 p.m. after its left wing caught fire. The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft, made in 1991, was departing for Honolulu from UPS Worldport at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
