EUGENE, Ore. - North Eugene High School girls soccer continues to live up to its reputation as a powerhouse program.
On Tuesday night, the undefeated Highlanders took another step toward their goal of a state championship with a 4-0 win over West Albany. The victory advances them to the next round, where they’ll host La Salle Prep on Saturday.
Ranked No. 1 in the state, North Eugene has built its success on more than talent alone. Head coach Brandy Wormdahl has spent nearly three decades transforming the program into a model of consistency and culture.
“It started a long time ago for me,” said Wormdahl. “We haven’t always been good. Like I showed the girls our record in 2013, we won one league game, we were like two and nine and four on the season. So it’s been a longer journey for me.
