STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Weeks after the Advance/SILive.com reported on an unsanctioned stop sign on the borough’s East Shore , an official sign has been installed at the same intersection.
Recently, the Department of Transportation installed a new all-way stop at Robin Road and Jackson Avenue in South Beach.
The installation happened near the end of October, and according to the agency, the sign was added based on feedback from the neighborhood.
“After hearing feedback from residents in the area, NYC DOT studied this location and found that a vast majority of drivers traveled through this intersection well above the posted speed limit, qualifying it for an all-way stop,” said agency spokesperson Will Livingston.
