A high wind warning was released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 12:47 a.m. valid from 7 p.m. until Thursday 8 a.m. for Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties.
The weather service comments, "West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected."
"Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," says the weather service. "Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive."
