After Edinburgh's firework control zones came into force last week, displays are unable to go ahead in certain areas of the capital this Bonfire Night .

However, certain official displays outside of the affected areas are still able to go ahead. Events can still take place inside the control zones, with strict rules that fireworks are not set off.

Advice from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service states people should attend organised displays where possible, as they will be much safer and more impressive to look at.

Edinburgh Council issued similar guidance, and advised they would be working with emergency services and youth work services to help keep communities safe and discourage antisocial behaviour .
