An arson investigation has been launched after a fire broke out inside a block of high-rise flats . Emergency services descended on Brownley Court Road, in Wythenshawe , at 10.10pm last night (Tuesday, November 4).

Seven fire engines attended, as well as specialist fire service units and Greater Manchester Police . Officers arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of arson.

He remains in custody for questioning this afternoon (Wednesday), GMP said.
