LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WXIX) - The death toll in Louisville rises as officials shared the latest details on Tuesday’s catastrophic UPS plane crash.
As of early Wednesday, nine people are confirmed dead following the crash at the Muhammad Ali International Airport, Gov. Andy Beshear announced.
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said those nine victims were found at the crash site.
Kentucky’s governor said that while there are nine confirmed victims right now, the death toll may rise.
UPS flight 2976 crashed at the Muhammad Ali International Airport around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to a UPS press release.
UPS has reported that there were three crew members aboard when the plane went down.
