FAIRFAX, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster will attend a groundbreaking ceremony for a new sawmill in Allendale County.

The ceremony is set to begin at 11 a.m. at 150 Walker Road.

In June, Hampton Lumber announced plans to build the new, state-of-the-art sawmill.

This will be the company’s first new sawmill on the East Coast, and once fully operational, it will provide 125-140 new jobs in the area .
