SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - Over at Southeast Missouri State University’s Academic Hall on November 12, a bridge building competition will be held by the Missouri Department of Transportation for high school juniors and seniors to test who has the most effective and best bridge.
There will be about 300 bridges for them to test.
Materials for the bridge will be limited to balsa wood, string and glue.
According to a news release, doors will open at 8 a.m., competition will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at approximately 12 p.m.
Scholarships of around $1,000 will be offered to the winner, and the top five schools that have overall best performance will be given cash prizes.
