A citizen complaint about a strong smell of pot led to the discovery of nearly 100 pounds of marijuana in Gadsden.
The investigation began Sunday when Gadsden Police Department narcotics detectives received the complaint about the marijuana smell in an undisclosed area of east Gadsden.
Detectives responded and, after obtaining a search warrant, located several large trash bags containing suspected marijuana.
The total weight seized was about 95.12 pounds, with an estimated street value of more than $100,000.
No additional details were released, and it wasn’t immediately clear if anyone has been charged.
