A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in what Hamilton police say was a hate-motivated assault in Ancaster.
A 20-year-old woman was walking on Golf Links Road and Neville Drive around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 when a car approached and occupants yelled anti-Black slurs, police said.
Police allege the teen threw a drink at her.
The victim did not recognize the silver or bronze sedan or know any of the occupants.
On Tuesday police arrested a 16-year-old on the Mountain, said Const. Trevor McKenna.
He is charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
The teen, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was known to police, including for a recent incident involving bear spray.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
