A 28-year-old man from Princeton, Indiana, was killed early Monday in a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. Highway 287 about two miles east of Washburn, Texas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Troopers said the crash happened around 6:20 a.m. Nov. 3 when a 2008 Ford Fusion driven by Jordan Wampler was headed east on U.S. 287. For an unknown reason, Wampler braked sharply and swerved, causing the vehicle to enter a side skid, leave the roadway and roll over several times.

Wampler, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, where he later died from his injuries.
