The journey for Keira Closter to become the first Block Island School girl to compete at the RIIL Girls Cross Country Championships wasn’t easy. It required careful planning, the ability to change plans when things didn’t go right and an understanding of what you can and can’t control.
And that’s just what it took for Closter to get to Ponaganset High School for the meet on Saturday, Nov. 1.
