SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Results for the 2025 elections are coming in, and ABC4 is taking a look at the voter turnout statewide.
"Turnouts in municipal elections tend to be quite a bit lower," Ricky Hatch, an auditor with the Weber County Clerk's office, said. "Generally, about half of what you would see in a presidential election."
Hatch says many people don't choose to vote in municipal elections. "These are the crucial elections that impact our lives, much more than a president, senate, or governor race would."
Cache County
Cache County had a 26% voter turnout— a 1% decrease from the 2024 elections.
"The biggest factor in determining what drives turnout is what's on the ballot," Hatch told ABC4.com.
