Hearts have posted a record turnover of £24million amid a loss of just under half a million – despite last season’s disastrous form that saw two managers sacked. ‌

The annual figures for the year to June 30 - which do not take in Tony Bloom ’s £9.86m investment in the summer - show the Jambos’ turnover at £24.4million which is a 21 per cent increase on the previous year. ‌

Donations from benefactors and the Foundation of Hearts fans group also came in at just under £6m. ‌

But the current league leaders’ form domestically and in Europe saw an opportunity to return a profit blown.
