CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A Springfield Township mother was sentenced to 15 years behind bars after her 16-year-old autistic son was found dead and chained to a cot.
Tamara Moore, 51, received the maximum sentence after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment in connection with the death of her teenage son, who was discovered starved while chained to a cot in a utility closet in February 2024.
Prosecutors said during the hearing that there was no food in the teen’s digestive tract and that he possibly went without food or water for weeks.
Following the discovery, Moore was arrested at her home on Belgreen Lane and a warrant was issued for her boyfriend , William Turnage.
