The wait is finally over as the 10th series of Shetland airs on Wednesday night, with BBC viewers set to watch DI Ruth Calder (Ashley Jensen) and DS Lorna Tosh McIntosh (Alison O'Donnell) tackle a new case.

Earlier this month, the BBC offered viewers a glimpse of what's in store as the female detectives are summoned to the remote village of Lunniswick to investigate the sinister murder of an elderly woman, reports the Daily Record .

Alongside numerous returning faces, fans will encounter a host of new actors in the series as DI Calder and Tosh interview the Lunniswick locals in a bid to identify the perpetrator.
