CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Katie Weaver’s life changed in a split second.

“Right now, I am paralyzed from the belly down,” said Weaver

For weeks, the 24-year-old aspiring nurse has been in her hospital bed at MetroHealth Rehab.

On Oct. 16, she was injured and lost her fiancé, Zach Halligan, and unborn child in a crash. She was 22 weeks pregnant with a baby boy.

“We decided on Rowan. That is what I named him,” said Weaver.

When asked what gave her the courage to talk with 19 News, Weaver said: “To get justice for my boys.”

She said her world was turned upside down that October day.

She and Halligan were driving to get food; he was behind the wheel.
