CONCORDIA, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana State Police arrested a suspect accused of driving while intoxicated, killing one person in a wreck.
LSP arrested Rozaven Thompson on Nov. 4 on one count of driving while intoxicated (first offense). Thompson’s passenger, Lekita Mehta, died as a result of the crash.
The crash happened in Concordia Parish on U.S. Hwy. 84 at Nations Rd.
According to LSP, Thompson was driving westbound on U.S. Hwy. 84 when their vehicle crossed lanes and hit another vehicle.
LSP said Thompson was not wearing a seatbelt and received moderate injuries. Mehta was also not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
The drivers of the other vehicle were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.
Routine toxicology samples were taken. LSP said impairment is a suspected factor
