The East Providence girls' volleyball team is heading to the D-1 championship after soundly defeating rival La Salle 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 16-25, 25-23) in the semifinals at RIC on Tuesday night. The second seeded, 17-2 Townies will face first seeded North Kingstown at RIC on Saturday at 4 p.m..
The lady Townies split their two regular season matches against the Skippers, winning at home 3-1 and falling in an away match 3-0.
“It feels amazing,” said senior outside hitter Ellie Vest after the match. “I’m so excited to be here with all my best friends and I'm so glad that we made it this far and I hope that we can keep it going.”
Vest was phenomenal in the semifinal, smashing 13 kills, 2 aces and making 8 digs, defensively. As was senior right-side
