(Gray News) – Tom Brady says he cloned his late dog.

According to a report from PEOPLE , Brady worked with biotech company Colossal Biosciences to clone his beloved dog Lua after she died in December 2023.

Lua, a pit bull mix, was cloned using blood that was collected prior to her death.

Brady said he is now the proud owner of Lua’s clone, which he named Junie.

Colossal Biosciences “gave my family a second chance with a clone of our beloved dog,” Brady said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Brady adopted Lua with his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, during their marriage.

Colossal Biosciences made headlines for its “de-extinction” projects, including its production of three dire wolf pups in April.

Colossal also announced Tuesday that it acquired another biotech company, Viagen Pets and Equin
