The UEFA Champions League, formerly known as the European Cup, is a time-honored tournament where the best teams across the continent come together to determine who the best club in Europe.

In the league phase, teams play eight matches, with the top eight clubs advancing to the Round of 16, while the clubs that finish between ninth and 24th place are forced to go to the knockout phase play-offs.
