Attention all Texans : The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has released a chilling alert that cases of pertussis , AKA whooping cough, have spiked in 2025 and continue to rise.

Because 2025 marks the second year of increased cases, DSHS determined a health alert was in order.
