The first Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner , released a memoir about his experience on the reality show and his brief marriage to Theresa Nist. Now, Nist is sharing her side of the story.
“Not one of the stories that I have read [from his book] is the way it happened,” Nist, 72, claimed during a Tuesday, Nov. 4, appearance on the “Dear Shandy” podcast .
Nist went on to call out Turner, 74, for admitting in the memoir that he had major doubts about marrying her on the eve of their televised “Golden Wedding” in January 2024.
“You did me no favors by marrying a woman that you did not want to marry,” Nist said. “You should have called off the wedding. No matter that we were on TV, that didn’t matter. This was our lives. You should have stopped it.”
