NEW YORK (PIX11) — Starbucks fans waiting for their holiday-themed cups of coffee may be waiting longer than they'd like.
Union baristas of the global coffee giant have voted by an overwhelming majority to authorize an unfair labor practice strike ahead of the holiday season. Starbucks Union United baristas voted 92% in favor of the strike, according to a union spokesperson.
The announcement by the union came on Wednesday after six months of negotiating for new proposals to address demands for better pay, staffing and changes to what union representatives call "unfair labor practice charges."
