(NewsNation) — At least six people have died and 25 have been hospitalized due to a nationwide listeria outbreak linked to various recalled precooked pasta meals, according to a recent CDC update.
As of Oct. 30, there have been 27 cases of illness across 18 states in connection with the outbreak. Twenty-five of those cases have resulted in hospitalizations.
The outbreak has been genetically linked to precooked pasta made by Nate’s Fine Foods, according to testing conducted by FreshRealm, the company that produced some of the recalled products, as cited by the CDC and FDA.
The products were sold at major grocery stores around the country, including Albertsons, Kroger, Sprouts Farmers Market, Trader Joe's and Walmart.
