Nevadans may notice flags at half-staff today.

Nevada, as well as other states in the nation, are now flying flags at half-staff in accordance with national Flag Code which honors vice presidents from the day of death until interment. Though the White House has not made a formal announcement of the flag lowering as of Nov. 5, it did lower its flags to half-staff starting on Nov. 4.

Dick Cheney, the former vice president under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009, died Monday, Nov. 3. After experiencing several heart attacks, Cheney died from complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease. He was 84.
