NORTH LOGAN — Anita Oldham bought new cabinets for a new home she’s building. Half of that cost, a little over $15,000, went on her American Express card. To pay that off, she cut a check from her construction loan for the full amount.
But weeks later, Oldham discovered a $10,000 oops in her American Express account.
“It said that I had only credited my account for $5,000 instead of the 15,000,” Oldham said.
Despite numbers in a big, bold font, she believes someone at American Express flubbed it.
“The exact amount of the dollars and cents was the same, so I thought they just inputted it wrong,” she said.
Oldham says American Express agreed with her initial assessment. They credited her account that $10,000.
