A pedestrian died Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Pleasanton, according to police.
The collision happened at about 6:41 p.m. at the intersection of Main and Neal streets, police said.
The pedestrian, a 56-year-old Pleasanton woman, was rushed to the hospital but did not survive, according to police.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. Impairment does not appear to have played a role in the collision.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
