A Clarkston man who offered to pay a teen girl for sex outside an Oakland County store is headed to prison.
At a hearing Wednesday in Oakland County Circuit Court, Judge Michael Warren’s sentencing of Thomas Mellick Hensler had a wide range for the three felonies he was convicted of, stemming from an incident at the Target store in Auburn HIlls.
Using a computer to commit a crime had the lengthiest sentence of 27 months to 50 years; concurrent sentences of 22 months to 50 years for possession of methamphetamine/ecstasy and 22 months to 15 years for accosting a minor for immoral purposes were also handed down.
Jail credit of 232 days was acknowledged.
Hensler, 39, left an explicit note with a sex offer on a 17-year-old girl’s vehicle parked outside the store on March 18, officials said.
