DILWORTH, Minn. — Voters in the D-G-F school district said no to a proposed levy to fill a budget shortfall.

Of the 1,271 votes cast, just over 48 percent voted in favor of the referendum while 51 percent voted against.

There was a difference of only 33 votes between those in favor and those opposed to the referendum.

The proposed levy of $850,000 would have addressed ongoing budget deficits as well as fund classroom supplies, curriculum, and building maintenance.

Without the additional funding, the school says cuts will have to be made.
