The former two-division UFC champion BJ Penn has been in serious legal trouble all year. Most of his 2025 arrests stem from allegations involving abuse of family members and breaking a restraining order his mother took out against him. Penn’s sixth arrest of 2025 came after police got a call about an assault early morning on November 4th.
Dana White’s banned fighter, Penn, has been charged with third-degree assault following a confrontation that reportedly occurred around 1 a.m. at a residence on Kanoa Street in Hilo. A man, aged 45, reported that several times during the altercation, Penn punched and kicked him before fleeing the area to contact police and seek medical attention. The individual received treatment at Hilo Benioff Medical Center.
