KENTWOOD, Mich. — A former massage therapist for Corewell Health in Kentwood is charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree (force or coercion) and one count of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree.
The charges against Mark Scarlato stem from a police report that Corewell Health filed. The healthcare network flagged authorities after a patient called them to file a complaint against Scarlato.
According to court documents, the woman who raised the concern was a yoga instructor who has special certifications for "yoga for the pelvic floor." The woman filed the complaint on behalf of the victim, who had attended one of her workshops.
The victim told the group in the workshop that she had pelvic floor therapy done by her physical therapist, Scarlato. The
