RIFLE, Colo. (KREX) - A single-wide mobile home suffered significant fire damage late Wednesday morning.
The Colorado River Fire Rescue (CRFR) crews responded to the blaze around 10:54 a.m. at the Kings Crown Mobile Home Park in Rifle. Firefighters found the mobile home with heavy smoke coming from the home's attic.
Crews started an offensive attack and brought the fire under control within an hour. There were no residents at home at the time, but one dog and three cats died.
One dog was rescued and revived with oxygen by police officers. The pet was transported to an animal clinic for emergency care, according to CRFR.
There were no reported injuries to firefighters. The home sustained significant fire and smoke damage. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown.
