Maryland Gov. Wes Moore doubled down on his effort to redraw the state's congressional district maps next year.
The governor announced Tuesday that he's assembling a bipartisan advisory commission that follows a model used by former Gov. Martin O'Malley. The panel will solicit public feedback before making recommendations to the governor and General Assembly on how to redraw congressional district lines.
"This process that I just ordered is instructive. I think it is thoughtful, I think it is thorough," Moore told WBAL-TV 11 News on Wednesday. "The commission has already started working. I think that they will come up with a resolution and an answer that actually reflects Maryland's best hopes."
