EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -High temps shot into the 70s on Wednesday as the Tri-State enjoyed sunny skies between two weather systems. Colder air fill dive in again late Wednesday and push lows into the upper 30s on Thursday morning. Highs on Thursday will only reach the lower 60s. The next cold front will head our way late Thursday and spread rain and some thunderstorms across the Tri-State on Friday. We are on alert for a few strong storms, and the Storm Prediction Center has a level 1 of 5 risk for the entire area. Best chances for severe weather will be along the Kentucky-Tennessee border. Saturday will be partly sunny with a high in the middle 60s. The next blast of frigid air arrives on Sunday and high temps will tumble into the 40s will lows will drop into the 20s for our first freeze
