OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Owensboro city leaders are moving to establish clearer rules for dealing with unruly bus riders.
An ordinance was introduced Tuesday that would allow them to suspend or revoke bus riding privileges for passengers who disrupt services or put others in danger.
The proposal aims to protect both riders and drivers.
It also including a formal appeals process for anyone who is suspended, giving riders a way to challenge the decision.
“Generally our riders are respectful and do follow the rules that are in place, but we do need some structure in place to deal with it when it does occur,” said City Manager Nate Pagan.
There will be a second reading at the next meeting.
