Throughout the season, as part of the “ready squad” and “70-man roster” mindset, the Seattle Seahawks have been signing players to the active roster from the practice squad as well as releasing players from the active roster and sending them down to the practice squad soon after. When safety Jerrick Reed II was waived on Tuesday to make room for Rashid Shaheed, many assumed (perhaps the Seahawks as well) that Reed II would be able to move back to the practice squad as he has earlier this season. However, that will not be the case as the Tennessee Titans just claimed Reed II off of waivers.
Reed II’s departure out of Seattle will be a hit to the Seahawks safety and special teams depth. The third-year safety out of New Mexico had four tackles in 13 defensive snaps and 62 special teams snaps
