A person was rushed to the Bridgeport Burn Unit after a fire broke out inside a Norwalk home's garage, trapping them in a burning car, authorities said.
The Norwalk Fire Department said crews responded to Fairfield Avenue on Thursday, Nov. 5, around 10:45 a.m. A car parked in the garage was engulfed in flames, and someone was trapped inside.
Firefighters breached a wall to reach the vehicle and pull the person to safety. The victim suffered severe burns. Authorities did not release any information on them.
Paramedics rushed the person to Norwalk Hospital before transferring them to the Bridgeport Burn Unit, according to the fire department.
Officials said the fire was contained to the car and garage. Smoke damage reached the floors above, but no one else was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
