OHIO COUNTY, Ky. – A Morgantown man is facing drug-related charges following a traffic stop in Ohio County.
According to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday around midnight, Ohio County deputies conducted a traffic stop near the 80-mile marker of the Western Kentucky Parkway.
During the stop, deputies say they made contact with the driver and observed a black cylinder on the passenger-side floorboard consistent with devices often used to conceal illegal substances.
Authorities say after briefly stepping away to run the driver’s information, a deputy returned and saw the cylinder was no longer in the vehicle.
Deputies say the driver was asked to exit the vehicle, and they observed him throw the black cylinder into a ditch.
