HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - A Hopkinsville man has been convicted of murder after an investigation by Kentucky State Police.

On Dec. 9, 2021, KSP began an investigation after a deceased female was located in an abandoned vehicle on KY-124 (Cerulean Road) in Trigg County. The deceased female was identified as 34-year-old Candace Marcel of Hopkinsville.

The investigation into Marcel’s death led detectives to a residence on Clearman Court in Hopkinsville. A search warrant was conducted on the residence, and detectives located a deceased male, identified as 35-year-old Stanley Bussell, also of Hopkinsville. Bussell was the registered owner of the vehicle Candace Marcel had been located in.
