LUFKIN, Texas — A man accused of shooting a teenager outside of Rodeo Disko in Lufkin has been arrested.

Lufkin Police said Luis Gerardo Morales, 39, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Nacogdoches County deputies on charges unrelated to the shooting. Detectives expect to file charges against him Thursday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The shooting occurred outside Rodeo Disko, located in the 700 block of South Timberland Drive, at 12:50 a.m. Oct. 18. Officers arrived to the scene to find a teen laying in the parking lot near the entrance of the business. They administered first aid to the teen until EMS arrived, and is expected to be O.K.
