LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WXIX) - Twelve people are now confirmed dead following Tuesday’s catastrophic UPS plane crash , Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg confirmed.
Among the dead could possibly be a young child, Gov. Andy Beshear said.
“The coroner was on the site, removing bodies, as we were there and as we were leaving,” the governor explained.
Earlier Wednesday, Gov. Beshear said 16 different families have reported unaccounted loved ones.
“Families are still waiting for information on their loved ones,” Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said.
Gov. Beshear said the search for possible survivors is now a recovery effort for dead victims.
UofL Health says they received 15 patients and that 13 of them have been discharged.
Two victims remain in critical condition at the University of Louis
