CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Numerous programs are at risk of ending as the government goes into its fifth week of the shutdown. The early childhood program Head Start is one of them.
Across the country, some programs have already had to shut their doors. In the Charlotte area, programs are not immediately impacted, but they are preparing for the worst.
Brittany Frazier, a mom of six, wants lawmakers to think about having a heart as the shutdown continues -- putting a program vital to her family and millions of other Americans at risk.
Fraizer has relied on the program for a few of her children, currently her three-year-old son. She said the shutdown would have a drastic effect on her family.
