BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) -- There's a new shoe store in the Southern Park Mall that can help you step into style. A young entrepreneur runs it, and he shared with First News why he chose Boardman for his fresh retail concept.

Evan Frank opened Sole Gallery, and Wednesday marked the fifth day of business. He's an 18-year-old from Pittsburgh who tried college but learned it wasn't for him.

"I've always been in the sneakers collecting and stuff, and I run my own sneaker convention too," Frank said. "So I thought, might as well help the community out and get something new in here."

He picked the Southern Park Mall for his business, where rent was 70% less than other locations he checked. He was well aware of the perceptions surrounding it.
