CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — For years, the sound of wheels on concrete and dogs playing nearby has filled this Southside space.
But soon, that sound will quiet — as bulldozers move in to start something brand new.
Beginning November 10th, the City of Chattanooga will shut down ChattTown Skatepark and Chew Chew Dog Park to make way for a complete transformation.
City officials say the project will replace the existing park with a multimodal family skatepark that includes an event area, new restrooms, and a state-of-the-art concrete skatepark designed for all skill levels.
“What’s gonna be happening is we’re putting in a full concrete skate park designed by California Skateparks — they’ve built Olympic parks,” said Brian Smith, Director of communications for Chattanooga Parks and Outdoor
